Levi: Northern Lights Tour by Minivan

About This Experience

Arctic Circle Snowmobile Park’s minivan tour is the short, low-cost way to try an aurora chase from Levi. As night falls the guide collects the group from set locations in Levi and drives to several viewing spots, looking for the Northern Lights and, on clear nights, pointing out star constellations. The whole evening lasts about 2.5 hours, and at from $111 per person on a real date (checked October 2026) it is the lowest-priced chase among the tours we review.

Because it is aurora-first, the stops depend on the sky. Recent reviewers describe three or four locations in one evening, and one says the lights appeared about eight minutes after leaving. The trade-off is time: 2.5 hours gives the guide much less room to escape cloud than the 6–10 hour chase run by Arctic GM (our review), and there is no refund rule attached to a sighting.

The rules are plain. Northern lights are a natural phenomenon and visibility can’t be guaranteed, and the operator won’t cancel because of the weather. You can cancel or reschedule free of charge more than 24 hours before the start, subject to availability, so check the forecast a couple of days ahead and move your night if it looks cloudy. The listing says the tour is not suitable for people with mobility impairments, and luggage or large bags are not allowed.

The inclusions are thin: pickup and drop-off from set locations, the minivan and a live English-speaking guide. Winter clothing, food, hot drinks and professional photos are not listed, even though the listing’s web address mentions a barbecue. Bring your own warm layers, winter boots, mittens and a hat, plus a thermos if you want something hot while you wait. If you would like photos taken for you and a campfire stop, the small-group Levi Northern Lights Experience costs $36 more per person (our review).

It suits first-timers who want a taste of a chase without giving up a whole night, travelers on a budget, and anyone whose plans leave only a short evening free. If seeing the aurora is the main goal of your trip and you have a single night, a longer chase gives the guide more options. Booking and payment happen on GetYourGuide, with free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start.

What Travelers Say

Rated 4.3/5 by 189 verified GetYourGuide travelers.

Fantastic. We've been to 4 different places and seen a great show.

I think the price is a bit high, but overall this experience is expensive. I would have included photos with professional equipment to offset the expense. I must say that the guys took us to three locations to give us a great experience and to see the aurora, and we managed to have a wonderful experience.

At first, it seemed hopeless to see the Northern Lights given the forecast, but our guides took us to three places where we could see them. They offered hot drinks and cookies. A unique experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the minivan tour include a barbecue or hot drinks?

The listing text does not include food or drinks. Its inclusions are pickup and drop-off from set locations in Levi and a guided tour. The web address mentions a barbecue, but nothing on the listing confirms one, so bring a thermos and a snack if you want them.

What happens if it is cloudy on my night?

The tour runs anyway: the operator won’t cancel because of weather conditions, and visibility can’t be guaranteed. To change plans, cancel or reschedule more than 24 hours before the start, subject to availability. Check the forecast a couple of days ahead so you can still move your night.

Where does pickup happen?

Pickup and drop-off are from set locations in Levi, not necessarily your own door. Check your booking for the exact point and time, and dress warmly in case you wait outside. Luggage and large bags are not allowed on the minivan.

How long does the tour take?

About 2.5 hours. The guide visits more than one spot, and reviewers describe three or four stops in an evening, but there is less time to drive away from cloud than on chases of 5 to 10 hours. It suits travelers who want an early-ish night or a first try.

Is it suitable for children or people with limited mobility?

The listing says it is not suitable for people with mobility impairments and sets no minimum age. Winter clothing is not included, so children need full winter gear of their own. The short length makes it one of the gentler aurora evenings for families who can handle the cold.

How much does it cost?

From $111 per person on the first bookable date, 26 October 2026 (checked October 2026). Prices can change by date, so confirm on GetYourGuide before you pay. Free cancellation applies up to 24 hours before the start.
